Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani-Peruvian Muay Thai fighter and mixed martial artist and currently competing with the UFC flyweight division. She is older than fellow UFC Fighter and former UFC Flyweight Champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko began her professional journey as a Muay Thai boxer. She made her debut in 2003 at the IFMA World Championship Tournament. Shevchenko won the tournament and defeated Suzane Milliner in a unanimous vote. Antonina followed it up and took home a silver medal in 2007, a bronze in 2008, a gold medal in 2011, and was the 2015 IFMA Amateur Muay Thai World Champion. Antonia's professional journey began in 2003. In 2012 she won her the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship In 2016, she won she won the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship and in 2016 the WMC World Championships. Antonina fought Isa Tidblad Keskikangas in the final round of Phoenix Fighting Championship. The winner was unanimously. Antonina Schevchenko began the professional phase of her MMA career in 2002 after the victory over Anara Baanova at the KFK Cup in Kyrgystan. She took the fight with a TKO at the end of round two and her following two matches were staged at the WXF X-Impact World Championships. Shevchenko was a dedicated kickboxer after which she took a lengthy break of MMA. She came back to fight in 2017 and faced Anissa Hasdaoui. Shevchenko was able to defeat Anissa with a unanimous verdict and beat Valerie Domergue on Phoenix FC 4 in 2017. She quit the promotion and started Dana White's Contender Series 2018. Shevchenko was matched against Jaimelene Nievera in Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11, Antonina defeated Nievera by her striking skills that were superior at the end of the fight by using knees on the body. Antonina Shevchenko received the UFC Contract after this victory. Antonina was able to make her UFC debut in the TUF Heavy Hhitters Finale, with Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko defeated Roxanne Modafferi in a split-decision fight following her first bout by a an unanimous decision. Antonina was able to bounce back from the loss by defeating Lucie Pudilova in the UFC on ESPN Covington against Lawler via a rear-naked choke submission. The result earned her the prize of fight-of-the-night. Shevchenko won her first three fights but then lost them to Katlyn Cahookagian Andrea Lee and Ariane Lipski. Antonina lost to Casey O'Neill by second-round TKO in the second round of UFC Fight Night Santos Walker.
